Rountree Neighborhood

Rountree is a thriving neighborhood of historic charm and diversity, conveniently located in the heart of revitalized center-city. We are home to college students from nearby Missouri State University and a variety of families young and old. In Rountree you are a quick bike ride away from professional baseball, performing arts, and a host of unique restaurants and other offerings unmatched in the city. At the heart of the neighborhood is historic Rountree Elementary School, which opened in 1917, and is today the site of a unique International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.  Approved by Springfield Council in 1985, the Rountree neighborhood is among only three neighborhoods in Springfield with an Urban Conservation District (UCD) designation. In July 2015, Rountree was named as one of the Best Neighborhoods in Southwest Missouri by 417 Magazine.

Phelps Grove Neighborhood

In 2010, Southern Living magazine named Phelps Grove Neighborhood one of “The South’s Best Comeback Neighborhoods.”  Developed in the early 1900s, Phelps Grove streets are lined with large trees and many properties proudly display plantings nourished over many decades.  The area is known for its central location, moderately priced housing, and the ambience found in a well-cared for older neighborhood.  In addition to the cultural and entertainment opportunities at Missouri State University, the Phelps Grove Neighborhood is home to Phelps Grove Park and the Springfield Art Museum, making cultural and recreational activities within easy walking distance for residents.
